Students in the Interactive Media for Performance specialization anchor their individual studies around generating art for live situations, including performance, interactive time-based visual art, and various forms of electronically mediated narrative—including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Students expand their skill set and means of expression with performance practice, software and hardware courses, drafting and drawing, and the use of new media.
The focused, small cohort of MFA students will engage in personal and Institute projects under the direct mentorship of their advisors. The Specialization draws a variety of collaboratively minded students from the various arenas of art and technology that will make these ambitious interactive projects possible.
